SOMUDAN's main purpose is the promotion, management, and undertaking of actions aimed at facilitating the establishment and development of business activities of a private or public nature in Andorra, mainly the management, administration, promotion and development of municipality-owned land for industrial and agricultural/livestock uses. This company simplifies procedures and dealings currently in use, thus taking an important part of the workload handled by the Local Administration and is aimed at reaching the goals set with the management tools available to a business organization.

From the Public Company located at the OPYDE, projects are assessed, technical assistance and monitoring services aimed at procuring funding and subsidies are rendered, information and advice are offered to new entrepreneurships and cooperation between Public Administrations and Private Companies is enhanced.

The promoter also receives assistance in procedures for procurement of licences and permits from local and regional bodies and for access to industrial land and infrastructures.

Since its creation in 2002, SOMUDAN has taken part in the share capital of three companies set up in Andorra under a Venture Capital scheme, thus cooperating in the creation of 150 jobs in the three environments. Average participation is at around five years.
